Mamoulin, Rouben - 1931 Signed Still From, "City Streets" w/ Gary Cooper & Sylvia Sidney
Original 1931 8x10 sepia still photo, a view behind the scenes on the set of the Paramount pre-code film, “City Streets”.
Director Rouben Mamoulin is pictured with the film’s stars, Gary Cooper and Sylvia Sidney eating hot dogs on the set. On the verso of the still, is a studio printed description entitled “Eating the props”.
City Streets was director Mamoulin’s first Hollywood production. His previous film, “Applause”, his directorial debut, was filmed in Astoria Studios in New York City.
Signed and inscribed “To Jim Bawden - With my very best wishes - Cordially – Rouben Mamoulian”.
This still is beautifully signed and inscribed in red fountain pen. Very fine with four very minor corner bumps. Three slight short crease lines just above the cooks head, well away from the inscription. A very nice piece for display!
